Wireless Networking at UF
Wireless on UF campus started off with a project to provide outdoor wireless to the center of campus in 2004. This project included areas near Computer Science & Engineering, College of Business, Fine Arts and College of Education. In 2008 campus is moving to a centralized management platform with over 650 access points and the numbers are incrementing daily. This move will allow mobility between areas without reauthentication, and build the infrastructure for future wireless voip service on campus.
This site offers information about wireless networking and details about the UF wireless services. If you are a student, faculty, or staff member and would like information on how to access this network go to the FAQ page for answers to most of your questions. If you are with a campus department and you are considering wireless or need additional wireless systems in your area go to the Wallplate Implementation Schedule for your anticipated installation date for basic wireless or submit a request for a consult with Network Services for advanced services wireless.
